![]() ![]() I have tons of ideas but this isn't the post for that lol, this has gone on long enough. Honestly there's so much potential for an actual value for the membership program that can be given to our guests, but it just isn't happening. Sure you can ring the card first and then apply the coupon for what they wanted afterwards, but in doing so inherently goes against the idea of the card bringing that person back later in the month. Pros also receive a ton of other perks like Pro-early access to exclusive events and offers, monthly reward certificates, 10 extra trade-in credit on games, accessories and gear, as well as a subscription to Game Informer. Also, for those of us who are employees how often do we hear " Well what does that do for me now?" And then we hit them with the whole $5 coupon every month, extra points, which here's the flaw, is all after this transaction. Get 10,000 points upon enrollment and earn 2X points for each dollar spent on every purchase. If there's nothing new out that this person wants theyre not worried about the $5 bucks off, they just know they'll have $5 bucks waiting for them for that next big thing they want, which could be months down the road. This method of thinking goes against the nature of that particular type of customer, because that customer knows what they want and comes to get it and then leaves. However the design is to get you back in the store every month to purchase extra things, and honestly it's not a great way to do that. ![]() The program now is $5 bucks a month, which is great for people who barely shop in the store or only buy new games from time to time. Why would they? That's where our profit is. Corporate said there would be a natural cycle of pre-owned price drops to naturally effect that price but I haven't really seen it. If you shop a lot in the store, and pre owned was your thing, you definitely were better off with the 10% off preowned. One of the biggest complaints I hear and agree with is the pre owned price reduction. Honestly it depends, in the store I'll say hell yes it's worth it to every customer every time, but there are circumstances where you would have been better off with the old style of membership plan. ![]()
